Ch 24 Scene: A Mother's Touch

A whirl of recollections raced through Josh's mind. One of them was a memory of when his mom took him uphill from where they lived to see the sunset and catch a glimpse of a falling star. The lightning bugs lit the wheat fields, all the way to the top of the hill. Her long and curly maroon hair flapped as the wind and sun's rays caressed her face. She turned said something to Josh with a smile on her face but no audible words came out. She tapped his nose cheerfully and rubbed his head gently as always. She held out her hand to her side as she turned back so Josh could take it. Josh could see his small hand reach out to grab it. He remembered wishing to stay with her forever or marry someone like her. The memory died away and he was left staring straight ahead with his hand reaching out to a hallucination in mid air.
"Mum..." Josh spoke softly. The skin under his eyes was an orangey color.

I LOVE silhouettes against a sunset! I've always wanted to do one and I finally got a good scene where it fit. Yey! I got inspiration from this picture Ooooh! Ahhh! Go see it.

I almost feel bad for Josh. These were his happier times. It's a memory of him and his mom when he was young.

I don't know why, but this didn't take long and it's one of my fave submitions.
